This series caught my attention because of the title. I had just finished reading My Nights With Kate (Jack Ryker) which was a very steamy story that started out as an arrangement as well. In this book, several similar elements surrounding Sean come into play, but he is a much darker character which results in incredible mood swings. This is definitely a bi-polar version of Kate's story, but I must say the author does a good job of leaving you hanging and needing to see what happens next!This installment is quite a day in the life of Avery and Sean. Avery starts out devastated, having the worst day of her life. Then at about the 25% mark, things turn around and it suddenly becomes one of the best days of her life. However, by the time they have lunch she is back on the downward slide into incredible despair. The fact that she made bi-polar burgers for lunch lets us know that the author knows exactly what she's doing. By the time the day comes to an end more is revealed about the brooding, volatile Sean and it leaves us wondering... now what? I'm betting on more angst and roller coasters.
Some readers don't like the fact that each book is a short story as it breaks up the reading experience. However, I look at it as being similar to a TV series where you are left hanging each week and have to tune in next time to see what happens. H.M. Ward does a good job of building tension and curiosity, so as long as each book remains consistent in quality I have no problem with it. The only thing is, with everyone investing a significant amount of time and money in the series, there better be a spectacular ending somewhere down the line!

This is one of my favorite serials ever. It’s sexy, sassy, funny and dark.
This serial belongs to the dark and brooding Sean Ferro. He’s the first Ferro I was introduced to, and he holds a piece of my heart. As the series start out, Sean is very mysterious, and to be honest – 15 volumes in (when I’m writing this review), he still is a bit of an enigma. There is still a lot to be learned. He’s a dark SOB, this one. He’s got his fetishes, but holy wow is he delicious. And scary. Seriously, I love him – but if I had known him IRL I would have been scared s***less, and kept my distance.
Then we have Avery. This girl’s got some spunk. I mean she has to, given that Sean is her love interest. She’s a struggling student when we first meet her, and when her best friend, Mel, realizes this, she reveals what her REAL job is. She’s a high dollar call girl. Ms. Black latches on to Avery immediately, and if Avery just takes one client, it could solve all her problems. She only has to say yes. Problem is she only wants one guy, Sean. Enter a s***load of trouble.

This is an erotic romance, and you can expect some mighty steamy scenes. Some of the volumes more so than others, because there is a hell of a lot going on in this series. The Arrangement, and Sean basically, was the catalyst for all the other books from this same world. Sean has made an appearance is in every spin-off so far. So this is obviously a great place to start if you are curious about H.M. Ward’s books. Just remember to start at the beginning. You would not understand half of what’s going on if you jumped into it halfway through.
It’s important to note that this is a fan driven series. Essentially that means that as long as the fans want more, there will be more. And I honestly can’t picture the day we won’t want more. So if that is not for you, I recommend you go pick up something else, because this story has been going on for a good while now, and I certainly hope it will go on for a long time to come – as long as Holly wants it to.
Another important note is that these are split up in volumes, and each one end on a cliffhanger (Holly is the queen of cliffhangers). It’s nerve-wracking every time. And it is one of the tings that keep it just as exciting as it was in the beginning. As well as the fact that they’re always fast paced, and it never gets boring. Each volume starts off exactly where the last one left off. I always like to re-read the latest volume before the next one releases because you really get thrown right back into the action without any recaps. It really is kind of built like a TV-show, which is so awesome, because something like that is currently in the works! *fangirls* Just Imagine seeing THE Sean Ferro on screen…
As Avery & Sean's time together progresses, Avery has an incredibly difficult time separating feelings from Sean & it just being sex as a business transaction. After a chance meeting in the cemetery where Avery's parents are buried, she finds out about one of Sean's secrets. With this new revelation & an intense intimate encounter, Avery feels that her feelings for this messed up man must be mutual. When Avery returns to the dorm Mel confronts her & makes sure she understands that she cannot fall for Sean & that it is just sex. Nothing more, Nothing less. With new determination later that evening Avery decides to follow Mel's advice. But in doing so she learns more about Sean than she ever bargained for & is left with her life spin out of control one more time.
These shorts stories are both full of humor & intense emotions. Just when things feel good, Avery is smacked to ground one more time. Will she be able to do what needs to be done in order to survive?
I love this cover out of all the others this series has! The second part of the series broke my heart but this one broke it even more, I mean I'm glad that Avery is finally starting to come out of her shell and say how she feels and half the time I want to kill Sean for being an ass but then the times he is playful you can't help but love him to pieces, "If I'm bludgeoned by a piggy kite and lose my mind, you have to promise to tell people that I was done in by something much more manly." When Avery halls the balls to actually admit how she feels about him and Sean's reaction it practically killed me I mean who the hell would have the guts to say something like this to a guy, "It doesn't matter what you do or what you say, I'm desperately afraid of you, Sean. Everything about you seems to bring me back to life. You're voice, your words, your face...I can't think when you're there and when you're gone, it's worse." It really does take a lot to say how you feel but let me tell you what I wouldn't have handled it the way Avery did I would have gone wild. The way this part of the series ended I need and i mean NEED the next part ASAP!
